November Events
It’s hard to believe we are already finishing up our first term of the year and getting ready for winter break. As the term comes to an end, I want to highlight some of the great things that have happened at Winlaw Elementary in November.
Our Kindergarten students were joined by Transportation Manager Carol Morton, who provided them with their bus safety orientation. Thank you, Carol for making sure out students are prepared to ride the bus for the first time this year.
For Remembrance Day many of the students created poems that they either presented at our Remembrance Day assembly or had displayed in the hallways. Thank you to the grade 2/3 and grade 4 class for singing two songs at our assembly.
November 15th was Rock your Mocs Day. Many of the students and staff at Winlaw had amazingly crafted Moccasins and traditional slippers to wear.
Through the Columbia Basin Alliance and its volunteers Winlaw Elementary is able to offer the CBAL reading program. This program allows students to receive extra 1 on 1 reading support three times a week. The program really helps to support our students with their literacy skills.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing everyone at the Christmas concert on December 11th at 12:45pm.
