October has been busy as we settle into the school year ahead of us.

In October we had 30 students from Winlaw participate in the SD8 Cross Country meet at Lakeside Park. Everyone gave their best efforts and there were many top ten finishers.

In October we had our first fire drill of the year. Winlaw Elementary was joined by the Winlaw Fire Department, RCMP and paramedics. After the drill students were given a presentation by each community service and got to tour each of the vehicles and see equipment.

October concluded with the annual Halloween Howler. There were many great costumes and the students got to show them off during the parade through the school and Halloween Fashion show. Students then participated in various Halloween activities put on by the Winlaw PAC such as crafts, Halloween films, apple cider, a scavenger hunt and a haunted house.
